  26. not to mention a blatant NeXT plug:
  27. NeXT scrollbars are the ONLY good implementation of this I have seen -
  28. click somewhere in the scroll space and the bar moves right there (the
  29. bar is also sized proportionally to the visible space / scrollable
  30. space ratio), move the bar by dragging it around, and the workspace
  31. (text, picture, whatever) moves accordingly, smoothly, and at the
  32. correct rate (1:1k mapping, where k is the proportion between the
  33. scrollable distance on the bar and in the scrolled object), and the
  34. buttons at the ends of the scrollbar are in pairs so if you miss and
  35. have to back up, you just move 1/8 inch, not all the way to the other
  36. end of the bar
