- Before jumping into this, let me state that about half of my clients have
- upgraded to Unix, and even that *most* of the remaining half will upgrade
- eventually.
-
- But, there are people who don't need no stinking Unix!
-
- Typically, this might be a company running 4-8 terminals, using RealWorld
- or perhaps some Filepro application they have been using for years.
-
- They probably have a 16 Mz 386 of late 80's vintage, and might only
- have 4 meg of memory.
-
- They don't use modems, they don't even use passwords, and they don't
- know squat about anything but running RealWorld or whatever. They
- don't do System Administration; they pay me to relieve themselves of
- that burden. Because Xenix is simple and pretty stable, we sometimes
- can go along for even a few years without my gracing their establishment
- with my presence.
-
- There is no reason to complicate their lives and add to their costs
- (hardware, software, and most of all my support) by upgrading to
- Unix.
-
- And that, Marc, *is* keeping the best interests of my customer in mind.
