  16. I tried to install the lpd_patchnov91 which is said to be available from

  18. trix::patches/{V4.0,V4.1,V4.2}/{vax,mips}/lpd
  19.  
  20. It turns out that this patch,when applied to a Ultrix 4.1 distribution
  21. results in an undefined symbol  'm_copydata' when linking the new kernel.
  22.  
  23. The patch exchanges the modules lta.o, tty.o and lat_scl1.o. The latter
  24. (lat_scl1.o) contains the undefined reference.

  29. (1) Is this a known problem?

  31. (2) did I miss something?

  33. (3) Is there a working patch available? (eventually at an Internet site)

  35. (4)  Where or how can a 'mundane' Internet (non-Decnet) user access

  39. NB: The above patch is said to amend problems related with LAT printer
  40. queue sharing between Ultrix and VMS printer queues. One nasty problem
  41. which we are presently have no cure for is that the VMS queue hangs, after 
  42. something has been printed via lpd from the Ultrix machine.
