- I'm using a DECsystem 5400 running Ultrix 4.2a. My system's
- software distribution tapes are self-booting: slap a tape in the
- drive, turn the machine on, and off you go. I'd like to create a
- self-booting tape for restoring files from a backup. It doesn't need
- to be anything fancy -- just enough so that I can restore my files,
- list directories, make filesystems, and perform whatever other tasks
- are necessary to restoring a crashed filesystem.
- After looking through the most of the manuals, though, I've found
- nothing that describes how to create such a tape. Could someone who's
- made one explain the process? My system uses a TK70 tape drive.
