  13. I have a machine which is the primary for its own domain plus the domains
  14. of three remote campuses.  Each of the remote campuses has one or two
  15. machines which are secondaries for their own domain.

  17. Frequently, when I use nslookup on the primary machine, the default server is
  18. claimed to be localhost.remote-campus-domain.  Restarting named causes the
  19. default server to revert to localhost.local-domain.

  21. The primary is a DECstation 5000/120 running Ultrix 4.2a.  The secondaries
  22. include a DECstation 5000/200 (also at 4.2a) and a collection of VAXstation
  23. 3100/4000s running VMS 5.5 or 5.5-1 and MultiNet 3.0.

  25. Can anyone suggest what might be the cause of this, or give me a strategy for
  26. debugging it?
