- i generally use xwindows on a decstation running ultrix. unfortunately,
- the -C option for xterm, which redirects console output to a window,
- does not function. (the man page specifically says 'this is not supported
- on all systems')

- so, what i'm hoping for is advice/script/program/etc. on how to indicate
- that console output is to go to a specific window or tty. i'm hoping
- for something non-violent, and i can't guarantee a particular name
- for the window (i.e. it won't always be tty01)
