-
- In terms of beta testers, not likely. Depends who you talk to, there
- might be some that say that everyone who buys a copy of 4.2 will be a
- beta tester :-P.
-
- As for an early developer program, I know for certain that larger
- developers have copies of 4.2 in hand for porting software. I think it's
- safe to say that major vendors of horizontal software (WP, databases,
- spreadsheets, etc) have copies in hand at this time.

-
- The problem with Destiny is it -- like the current release of 4.0.X --
- will resold by a half-dozen companies, each of whom do their own little
- twists and tweaks.
-
- In a perfect world, the current Intel UNIX vendors would have gotten
- their sh*t together and formed an organization similar to 88open in
- which companies who competed, would co-operate to encourage the use
- of UNIX on their CPU platform. In the absence of this, you may have to
- go to individual sub-liecnsees for assistance.
-
- >Should I talk to UNIVEL or USL ? Anyone listening ?
-
- The only company I know of which is 100% committed to reselling Destiny
- is Consensys. USL won't give you the time of day (they won't even talk
- to their licensees!).
-
- Univel, though it presently has an installed base of zero, may be worth
- contacting. They will likely engage in IHV and ISV assistance and/or
- certification with or without the co-operation of the other vendors.
- If they follow the precedent of parent Novell, there will definitely
- be a certification programme, at least for hardware.
