  35. I have a similar problem.

  37. I am trying to set up a UUCP connection between an off-campus (SCO 3.2.2)
  38. and an on-campus (Sun 4.1.1) machine. The off-campus machine uses Zoom 2400
  39. baud modem to dial-in and access an on-campus TCP/IP network server through
  40. which it then connects to the destination on-campus machine.

  42. The problem is the following: The off-campus machine successfully
  43. connects to the on-campus machine and the data transfer starts but soon
  44. after that the connection breaks because the on-campus machine does not
  45. respond any more. The UUCP diagnostic shows alarm messages ...

  47. I suspect that the problem might be in the network server, I tried to turn
  48. off the XON/XOFF protocol, server switch characters but with no result.
  49. (I used SET SESSION PASSALL and SET PORT BREAK DISABLE server commands.
  50. The server is DEC, I believe. It says VCP-1000 when I say SHOW SERVER.)
  51. If anyone has had experiences with UUCP through servers please help me
  52. to identify if that's the problem.

  54. The off-campus machine has no problems connecting to other UUCP sites
  55. directly through modems (no network servers).

  57. BTW, is Taylor UUCP a public domain package ? If yes, what is the name of
  58. the package to look for ?
