- I have a similar problem.
-
- I am trying to set up a UUCP connection between an off-campus (SCO 3.2.2)
- and an on-campus (Sun 4.1.1) machine. The off-campus machine uses Zoom 2400
- baud modem to dial-in and access an on-campus TCP/IP network server through
- which it then connects to the destination on-campus machine.
-
- The problem is the following: The off-campus machine successfully
- connects to the on-campus machine and the data transfer starts but soon
- after that the connection breaks because the on-campus machine does not
- respond any more. The UUCP diagnostic shows alarm messages ...
-
- I suspect that the problem might be in the network server, I tried to turn
- off the XON/XOFF protocol, server switch characters but with no result.
- (I used SET SESSION PASSALL and SET PORT BREAK DISABLE server commands.
- The server is DEC, I believe. It says VCP-1000 when I say SHOW SERVER.)
- If anyone has had experiences with UUCP through servers please help me
- to identify if that's the problem.
-
- The off-campus machine has no problems connecting to other UUCP sites
- directly through modems (no network servers).
-
- BTW, is Taylor UUCP a public domain package ? If yes, what is the name of
- the package to look for ?
-
- I would appreciate any suggestions ...
-
- Thanks in advance
