  12. I have installed an Archive XL floppy tape as floppy drive B: and
  13. installed the XL - software package from my svr4 distribution (MST);
  14. Now I'm having problem using the tape.
  15. Everytime I write '/usr/lib/tape/ftapecntl -s' I get the following
  16. error message:

  18. >Device /dev/rmt/f1q80c open failure.
  19. >Please check that cartridge or device cables are inserted properly.

  21. I removed the terminator resistor from the tape drive. It seems
  22. too me that there is nothing wrong but obviously something is.

  24. No, I did NOT forget the tape. It's in the drive.

  26. The floppy drive A: is a 3 1/2-inch drive and has no terminator resistor
  27. (I did not find it).

  29. The /etc/conf/sdevice/xl file looks like this;
