- working by some people, so I don't think it's all that broken. The 2.1
- was so nice about doing the dialing and starting the connection, but I
- haven't tried 2.2 yet for SLIP.

- As a data point I compiled cnews and nntp under the gcc-1 compiler on
- 2.1. I don't remember diddling anything special, although it did have a
- tendancy to corrupt the history file while getting an nntp feed (as does
- the current 2.2 using the cnews as shipped). Since I've seen this on
- other systems I assumed it was just a feature of cnews.
