- I have disk with 1222 cylinders and I want to use the cylinders past
- 1023 for ISC Unix. If I install it above 1023 the install fails
- during mkfs. It installs at 1020 ok, but fails during boot complaining
- that it can't load /etc/initprogs/identify. I suspect the boot is using
- the BIOS (which is limited to 1023 cylinders) and since my /root is above
- 1023 it fails.
-
- So the question is: What has to be below 1023 cylinders for ISC to boot?
- I assume the boot record in the partition and /etc/initprogs/identify
- How about /unix?
-
- Also, the swap partition comes before the root partition. Is there any way
- to move it after /root?
