- Just as an aside, I have had to boot MSDOS to configure at least 2
- cards for my ISC machine. Both were Ethernet cards: the 3c503 and the
- WD 8013 (er, SMC Ethercard Plus Elite). Imagine my surprise (and, I'm
- sure, that of many) to find that there was no facility for this under
- UNIX, and that I had to go out and buy a copy of MSDOS.
-
- I have also had to boot MSDOS just to run the diagnostics on nearly every
- card.
-
- Not the same, I know, as this issue. But still pretty annoying.
