- We have a ps2 model 80 with an smc8013 EP/A. We would like to use it with
- Interactive Unix 3.0. I'm having problems getting Interactive to use the
- smc8013 EP/A ethernet card.
-
- The sun tech support people say the network driver wd0 (Western Digital
- Ethernet Card Plus) that comes with the machine works with the WD microchannel
- cards. I have got the wd0 network driver to work for the ISA bus, but not
- MICROCHANNEL bus.
-
- Does anyone have an smc8013 EP/A or wd8003 ET/A working with the network
- driver that came with the system (wd0) ?
-
- The base i/o address of 800 for smc8013 EP/A is outside the acceptable
- range in the kconfig menus (it wants something around 280 or 300). The sun
- tech support people said to directly edit the sdevice file and put 800 in
- there for the base i/o address. I did that, and the successfully recompiled
- the kernel, but /etc/netd says I don't have /dev/wd0. /dev/wd0 is there,
- but it's not accessible to unix.
-
- The smc8013 works with our novell network and ncsa software, so I know the
- hardware is ok.
-
- I would appreciate any help ,
