  10. Can someone please help me with setting up my Adaptec 1740/42a SCSI
  11. card in my system please?

  13. It's a Gateway 486/33 EISA, and I'm trying to run Interactive V3.0 Unix.
  14. This is what I've done so far:
  15.     - run EISA config, kick card into Standard mode
  16.       (Int 11, IO 330, DMA 5)
  17.     - Install ISC V3
  18.     - run "kconfig", "HPDD" and set boot controller to AHA1740
  19.       and pick interrupt 11
  20.     - save changes, build a kernel and install it
  21.     - reboot, rerun EISA config and kick card into "Enhanced" mode
  22.     - reboot and try to run ISC
  23.  
  24. At this point I get the error:  HPDD AHA1740 NOTICE
  25.                 Kernel is interrupt 11
  26.                 EISA NV RAM is interrupt 6
  27.  
  28. And the system hangs...
  29.  
  30. Did I run EISA config incorrectly?  I didn't pick Interrupt 6, and besides
  31. I thought INT 6 was the floppy!  This controller has the floppies enabled
  32. and is controlling A: and B:.

  34. Should I have picked a different interrupt when configuring HPDD?
  35. (I haven't installed the V3.01 "fix" disk yet -- does that matter?)
  36. ( And I have a 100MB DOS 5 partition too -- does that matter?)

  38. I am up and running now, but the card is in Standard Mode and HPDD
  39. is configured to use the AHA1540 driver.

  41. But can you help me get to "enhanced" mode?
