- My 30 days grace time in which to return Dell SVR4 Issue 2.2 is
- running out, and I'm having pretty major problems with it. I'm
- seeking advice on whether to return the package. Here are my
- major problems:
-
- o I cannot get dialup SLIP to work AT ALL. The connection is
- made, but immediately disconnects. Does anyone have dialuip
- SLIP working under this rlease? If so, please e-mail me
- so we can talk details.
-
- o I am having frequent reboots while running X11R5. These
- seem to occur on mouse clicks of one sort or another, but
- I can't find any pattern beyond that. I'm using what
- Dell calls the "Xi386" server. My hardware is a Gateway
- 2000 386/33C with 8MB RAM, Diamond SpeedStart VGA card,
- and mono VGA monitor, with a Microsoft serial mouse.
-
- Usually, the system just reboots with no messages of
- any kind, but sometimes just the X server crashes.
-
- o I am unable to recompile cnews to disable Dell's
- default NNTP support. compiler errors crop up
- with both cc and gcc--even on the source code Dell
- distributes, using all the Dell build.def definitions!
-
- Help!
