  20. I have compiled up tcsh6.02 on hpux, and on our system we have a
  21. problem with ownership of tty's, which produces the following:
  22. ( an extract from my "slightly modified" manpage to warn the local
  23. users )

  25. When tcsh is started, you will sometimes receive the message:
  26.         setpgid:Warning: no access to tty (Not owner).  Thus no job
  27.         control in this shell.

  33.     There is something wrong with your operating system (hpux).

  35. Our Sysadmins
  36.     Tcsh is not supported software, therefore its YOUR problem.

  39.     There is something wrong with tcsh.

  41. If you find the answer, please let me know! The shell is still usable,
  42. however, any background processes that are started won't be run in the
  43. background.  For now the only solution seems to be to log out of that
  44. shell and try again.

  47. I am inclined to think it is our setup, but it doesn't effect any of
  48. the other shells that we have on our systems.
