  12. Hi,
  13.     i am trying to read a tar tape that was created w/ the
  14. compress option, but one of the blocks is corrupt.  When i try to
  15. extract the tape the corrupt input causes compress to barf and the tar
  16. extraction stops.
  17.     i have determined at which block the corruption occurs by
  18. using "dd" and "uncompress".  Is there anyway i can remove the bad
  19. block and splice the file together?
  20.     Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.  i'm sort of
  21. desperate.
