- I need to port some code that relies heavily on the availability of tty/pty
- pairs. This appears to be no problem in BSD variants (including AIX and
- dual-universe environments), but SVR3 and SVR4 variants appear to not have
- pty devices or a drop-in replacement. After some searching around various
- SVR3 and SVR4 machines, there is a "ptmx" set of devices that seems to
- parallel the ttys (like ptys would), but although they all have ptmx in place,
- ptmx doesn't show up in man pages on *any* of these. I've looked at AT&T SVR4
- R2.1, Pyramid DC/OSX, Sequent Dynix/PTX, NCR 2.0, etc.
-
- Is there a suitable pty replacement that I'm missing?
-
- Thanks in advance.
