  13. I'm trying to filedesc = popen(...) in a program.  I've had it working
  14. for a while but would like to modify it so I can check to see if there
  15. is any output before I attempt to read from the pipe since the read is
  16. blocking.  Since this is in an X program, blocking is not desirable.

  18. I saw something posted akin to this some time back but I can't find the
  19. printout.
