  30. There is a new kernel called "starlan".  This is a dist.fs for AT&T and
  31. (hopefully) HP Vectra machines.  It has the >8M fix and the StarLAN card
  32. driver posted here, but most important for you, it has more lenient CMOS
  33. memory calculation routines (these are in the patch kit as well) that will
  34. allow a kernel to boot and run correctly with weird CMOS memory setting (like
  35. yours) and also with 640K or less of memory (though you can't run much).

  37. Please try this fixed dist.fs and report back how they work for you.  I am
  38. very interested in how it will perform on a real Vectra *without* changing
  39. the CMOS setup.
