  15. I am having quite serious problems actually, whenever I start the X-server, the
  16. system crashes. (this is when using the version from incoming).  The system
  17. crash is usually in a place totally unrelated to the X-windowing, parts of the
  18. kernel. This occurs with both my own kernel (fixes for more memory than 8Mb plus
  19. all fixes supplied with the Xfree86 distribution) and the kernel supplied
  20. with Xfree86.

  22. My configuration of system is like this:
  23.     486-50 (unkown brand)
  24.     16 Mbyte ram
  25.     Adaptec 1542b
  26.     400 Mbyte Micropolis disk
  27.     ET4000 VGA-adapter supporting up to 1280x1024x4 and 1024x756x8
  28.         (probably 1152x900 too)
  29.     Genius 3-button mouse

  31. If anyone has any idea where I can start looking for the problem I should
  32. really appreciate any help. (I don't mind a bit of kernel-hacking, but I am
  33. very busy at work right now, so hobby projects like this is on low priority).
