- I am having quite serious problems actually, whenever I start the X-server, the
- system crashes. (this is when using the version from incoming). The system
- crash is usually in a place totally unrelated to the X-windowing, parts of the
- kernel. This occurs with both my own kernel (fixes for more memory than 8Mb plus
- all fixes supplied with the Xfree86 distribution) and the kernel supplied
- with Xfree86.
-
- My configuration of system is like this:
- 486-50 (unkown brand)
- 16 Mbyte ram
- Adaptec 1542b
- 400 Mbyte Micropolis disk
- ET4000 VGA-adapter supporting up to 1280x1024x4 and 1024x756x8
- (probably 1152x900 too)
- Genius 3-button mouse
-
- If anyone has any idea where I can start looking for the problem I should
- really appreciate any help. (I don't mind a bit of kernel-hacking, but I am
- very busy at work right now, so hobby projects like this is on low priority).
