  16. I'm new to this group and I hope this Question isn't in the FAQ 'cos I didn't
  17. found it while browsing through about 800 articles.

  19. I noticed some articles about the Diamond Stealth and the 'boycott' of 
  20. information from Diamond about the card.
  21.  
  22. My problems are:     
  23.     I'm using a Speedstar Plus Hicolor with 386BSD and X386
  24.     but I only get pixel-clocks > 45 MHz apart from the standard
  25.     25 and 28 MHz clocks from the standard VGA
  26.     My monitors specs tell me that it can do 35.5 kHz horizontal-
  27.     frequency but I'm running it with 37.6 kHz. 
  28.     While I can get a very nice 640x480 mode, it's nealy impossible
  29.     to get a working 800x600 mode because the picture is sqeezed in 
  30.     width. I think I could get a better view if my monitor could work
  31.     with higher hor.-freq., but that would mean to buy a new monitor
  32.     which are about 2000,- DM (~ 1000,- $) I think.
  33.     
  34.     If it would be possible to use the HiColor mode , I think the 
  35.     picture would be better. I could use the higher frequencies, because
  36.     the card has to read two bytes to display one pixel, so the picture 
  37.     becomes unsqeezed. Am I right?
