- Hello everybody,
-
- I'm new to this group and I hope this Question isn't in the FAQ 'cos I didn't
- found it while browsing through about 800 articles.
-
- I noticed some articles about the Diamond Stealth and the 'boycott' of
- information from Diamond about the card.
-
- My problems are:
- I'm using a Speedstar Plus Hicolor with 386BSD and X386
- but I only get pixel-clocks > 45 MHz apart from the standard
- 25 and 28 MHz clocks from the standard VGA
- My monitors specs tell me that it can do 35.5 kHz horizontal-
- frequency but I'm running it with 37.6 kHz.
- While I can get a very nice 640x480 mode, it's nealy impossible
- to get a working 800x600 mode because the picture is sqeezed in
- width. I think I could get a better view if my monitor could work
- with higher hor.-freq., but that would mean to buy a new monitor
- which are about 2000,- DM (~ 1000,- $) I think.
-
- If it would be possible to use the HiColor mode , I think the
- picture would be better. I could use the higher frequencies, because
- the card has to read two bytes to display one pixel, so the picture
- becomes unsqeezed. Am I right?
-
- I hope there is some help to my problem, if not I think I will add my name
- to the list of Diamond Curse
-
- Thanks in advance
- Jens- Uwe Jansen <jj@Germany.EU.net>
