- the files. They just blindly try to do the install in the root directory

- the default volume. If the app you're dealing with is one of these, you
- will have to do the installation as root.

- installation process remember a DirID. The problem here is that DirID's
- under A/UX aren't really persistent. Of course they aren't on the mac
- either, but that's another story. This means that having done the
- installation into the root folder as root, you now can't copy them
- somewhere reasonable. The software also may not work if you reboot.
- The major culprit I've found in this category is AutoDoubler. Only
- complaint I hvae about the product.
