- Hello;
-
- I finally got my modem set up. I am having one residual problem.
- I can only connect at 1200 bps. Here is my story.
-
- I initally set up my modem a described in the manuals that came with
- A/UX 3.0. I set all the at commands with cu as described. I edited my
- /etc/inittab file so that the port would respawn when asked to. I kept
- /etc/getty as the program, and I used the at_2400 settings. Connected the
- first time no problem at 2400. When I hung up and tried to connect again, the
- modem did not respond. The Auto Answer light just blinked.
-
- So I went in and changed the inittab file to use the apm_getty program,
- and kept the at_2400. The modem resets fine, but I can only connect at 1200 bps
- I don't undestand two things
-
- Why did my modem not reset using the getty program. I set the DTR to
- 2 which should hang up. I also tried 3 which would initalise the modem.
-
- Why does the apm_getty seem to change my top speed to 1200 bps despite
- setting the port to 2400 with the setport command, and setting the speed to
- 2400 in the inittab file.
-
- thanks in advance--robert rainer
