  18. Nope. Mach is a microkernel written at CMU. It is not a UNIX at all.
  19. However there is an effort on to port the CMU BSDSS server as well.
  20. This server is basically the high-order bits of BSD UNIX kernel
  21. running as a single server under Mach. So when _that's_ finished
  22. you'll have a BSD-workalike.

  24. Actually running BSDSS under Mach is something like a downgrade - Mach
  25. has excellent IPC which UNIX so sorely lacks, it supports concurrent
  26. operation of multiple operating systems, it allows for lightweight
  27. threads... I could go on for hours :-)
