- Speaking of version numbers has anybody found a 'nice' way to determine
- what OS level you have. We normally used uname -r to receive this
- information. I would have expected that IBM would do this as well. So
- far the only suggestion they have come up with is to do an lslpp and
- read off all the applied PTFs.

- If I run uname -r on our AIX 3.2.2 system I get "2". When we were at
- 3.2.1 we still got "2"! Not to mention any other three letter
- workstation companies by name but running the same command else where
- generates output like "4.0.5" or "4.1.1".
