- I am not sure what information you are looking for about these PTF's.
- What I usually want to know first, is what they are supposed to fix.
- Unfortunately, I have not been able to figure out how to find out
- BEFORE I apply them. After they are applied :-( nuts), the command
- lslpp -A U403376
- will tell me. If the result is "AVAILABLE" then the fix is available
- on some media (disk, tape, diskette) which has been "looked" at by
- the smit functions dealing with application of fixes. (This was
- an interesting discovery... the first time you use smit to look
- at one of these fix diskettes, it apparently salts away the
- availability of the fix in the ubiquitous ODM...)
-
- For what it's worth, here are the results on one machine here.
-
- bos.obj U403375 AVAILABLE None
- bos.obj U403376 APPLIED IX27027 Diagnostic support for new hardware
- bos.obj U403377 AVAILABLE None
- bos.obj U403378 APPLIED IX27029 New Install Function
- bos.obj U403380 APPLIED IX27031 Required for Diskless clients and
- servers
- bos.obj U403381 APPLIED IX27032 Required for POWERserver 220
-
- Now, if only I knew that it were possible to get the same information
- for the "AVAILABLE" fixes, and if I knew that it were possible to
- extract the text of the IX2.... off of the fix media, the situation
- would be greatly improved. Anybody know how to do this?
