- Actually, you're wrong. I've personally compiled hundreds of megabytes
- of free software on the RS/6000. I'd say about 1/2 compiled with no
- changes other than configuration, another 1/4 were buggy, and the other
- 1/4 required slightly more effort. Only a *very few* packages required
- a significant amount of effort to get running--and this was often due
- to compiler bugs which have since been fixed.

- In the above, I'm not considering packages like GCC and X, which are
- hardware dependent. They've been ported anyway.
