- I've gotten several responses from people to my previous
- postings about restores of rootvg by inode. It appears
- that a common practice is to perform a mksysb; then at
- various times in the future, dump files that have changed
- by hook or crook. The assumption is that if disaster
- strikes a rootvg disk, some way would be found at that
- time to restore rootvg completely. My reaction is that
- I'm glad you're not backing up any of my systems.
-
- Rather than repost articles, I've made postings and
- responses, and a copy of a fax sent to the Support Center
- kernel group, available for anonymous ftp from
- uvaarpa.Virginia.EDU in pub/rs6000/rootvg.restores. If
- you are interested in this topic and have missed previous
- postings, take a look at what has already been said.
