- 1. Why can't I print out the pcsim man page from within info explorer?
- Every time I try to do so, I get:
-
- info Warning
- ARTPRT 0575-610
- Cannot print article
-
- printing works for other man pages.
-
- 2. Why doesn't pcsim work when I specify a remote X display with
- -display? It only seems to work in monochrome mode. If I try running
- pcsim as follows: "pcsim -display wilma.cs.utk.edu:0.0 -dmode V" it
- simply exits. (The command "xterm -display wilma.cs.utk.edu:0.0"
- works fine.)
-
- 3. Is there any way to exit pcsim from the DOS command line? How
- about if I write a small program -- if I call the BIOS entry points
- for warm boot or cold boot, will that suffice to exit pcsim?
-
- 4. Why doesn't IBM supply a keyboard entry for vanilla xterm? Is this NIH
- or what? Does anyone have a pcsim keyboard entry for xterm handy?
-
- 5. It appears that the -Edrive option of pcsim will let you specify a
- directory, but not a symlink that points to a directory.
-
- 6. I have drive E attached to my home directory. I can cd around within
- DOS and list files with DIR. However, whenever I try to type any of
- the files, I get a "General Failure" message followed by the filename.
- Can anyone tell me what is going on here, and how to work around it?
-
- 7. If I kill pcsim (which I have to do often, because it gets wedged)
- a few times, eventually it won't let me run pcsim anymore. The message
- I get is:
-
- There are too many simulator sessions running.
- To change the maximum allowed, edit /usr/bin/pcsim.
-
- Granted, this is easy to work around, but it seems like pcsim should
- clean up after itself when it gets a signal.
-
- 8. Is there any way to run a single command at a time in a dos
- environment, with the dos environment inheriting the current directory,
- stdin, stdout, etc, from my AIX environment?
-
- I'm sure there's more to come. All I'm trying to do is to run
- an assembler in a pc environment...it shouldn't be that hard to do.
