- I need to get the load average of an RS6000 running AIX.
- I have a procedure now that makes an RPC call to
- the rstatd to get the load. However, the rstatd seems
- undependable (it fails periodically). Parsing the
- output from (e.g.) uptime is too slow since I must
- get the load repeatedly.

- Is there another way to get the load average?
- How does rstatd get it?
