  16. Are there any known bugs with the optimisation feature on
  17. xlc (AIX 3.2).  When compiling on one particular file,
  18. the compiler appears to "hand" for 10 minutes.  When I
  19. inspect memory usage, it shows that AVM is being used at
  20. a very high rate, during the last few minutes, the process
  21. is only slowed by the pagin in and out of memory!
  22.  
  23. The compilation eventually fails with the message 
  24. "compilation failed - out of space" (or something like that).
  25. Meanwhile, the server warns it is low on paging space.
  26. Obviously, there is something in this file which causes the
  27. optimiser to fail - I have no idea what it could be.  There
  28. are no tight loops - help would be appreciated.
