  16. I'm about to set up NIS on our machines (2 Mips running RISC/os 5.0 and
  17. 2 Sparc2s running SunOS 4.1.{1,2}). The two Mips use the shadowed passwords
  18. and the two Suns don't. The master server will be one Mips, one of the
  19. Suns is intended to be a slave server.

  21. Is there any problem to expect because of shadow ? I guess I'll have to
  22. truncate the /etc/shadow file the same way than the /etc/passwd file [on
  23. the client-only Mips]. (Will I have to add a + in the end or not ?) Will
  24. the maps be constructed with the right passwords or with the "x" that
  25. shadow puts in /etc/passwd ? Will the /etc/shadow file still be of use [on
  26. the master server] ?
