- Literate programming is NOT just for academics. If you are interested
- in learning more about literate programming or in practicing it yourself,
- you should join the LITPROG e-mail mailing list.
-
- The LITPROG mailing list is dedicated to discussions of literate
- programming. Topics include tools and techniques (e.g. "How can I
- get CWEB to recognize function templates?"), experiences with
- literate programming, bibliography of literate programming articles
- and books (they are not all by DEK!), "philosophy" of literate
- programming, and generally anything else that has to do with the
- theory or practice of "computer programs as literature". To join
- the LITPROG mailing list, send a one-line message to the address
- LISTSERV@SHSU.BITNET or LISTSERV@SHSU.EDU containing the line
-
- SUBSCRIBE LITPROG "Your Real Name In Quotes"
-
- The LISTSERV program will extract your name from the SUBSCRIBE line
- and your email address from the message header and add you to the
- LITPROG list. Your SUBSCRIBE request will be acknowledged with a
- "Welcome to LITPROG" message that will tell you how to post, how to
- get files from the archives, etc. The list has nearly 200 members
- who collectively use about a dozen literate programming tools (WEB,
- FWEB, CWEB, c-no-web, NOWEB, Spidery WEB, LIPED, web-mode.el, ...)
- and who are eager to promote literate programming! A FAQ list and
- bibliography for LITPROG is still in preparation (the list is only
- about six weeks old!).
-
- Hope this helps--

-
- P.S. Perhaps information about LITPROG could be added to the c.t.t
- FAQ posting? It is completely understandable that people who
- don't know about LITPROG should come to c.t.t to ask about
- literate programming, and I'm happy to promote LITPROG, but I've
- posted this same information about three times in the last two
- weeks and I'm reluctant to try the patience of the c.t.t readership
- with these repeated advertisements! :-)
