- I have a SparcStation 2 that crapped out this morning. When I did reboots
- it had all sorts of problems in /etc/rc.local with Memory fault - core dumped
- messages pouring out.
-
- So I shut it down, and replaced ALL its memory (32Mb). When powered up,
- it reports:
-
- *** U207 ***
- PMAP = 00073000, Exp = ff00ffff, Obs = ff00eff
-
- ??? What is U207? The memory banks are U311 to U318? so anyway, I thought
- maybe that memory was no good, even though it was straight out of the box.
- So I put the old stuff back in, powered on AND THE SAME MESSAGE CAME UP.
-
- After the message, the thing just sits there. No access of disks, nothing.
- It's a weekend here so no sun engineers are around, and the machine is
- our database server.
-
- If anyone can help AT ALL, it would be most appreciated. Please
- reply to the email address below.
-
- (Oh well, could have been our 690 server.)
