  12. Careful about the .z and .Z extensions.

  14. Use, "uncompress kermit.tar," if the file is kermit.tar.Z.

  16. Use, "unpack kermit.tar," if the file is kermit.tar.z.

  18. The compression algorithm is similar, but there are technical
  19. implementation differes slightly.  I believe one  is berkeley
  20. flavor while the other has systemVish roots.
