- I've got an interesting problem with my Sun 3/260. I've be running
- SunOS 4.0.1 for a couple of years now and things have worked well.
- This morning when I tried to reboot I got an error when the system
- was attempting to mount the /usr partition. It said that the mount
- device was busy and it was giving up. This left me in single user
- mode but without the /usr partition. Any command I typed in responded
- with a not found error (even when I specified the full pathname). I
- was able to create a 4.1.1 miniroot on the xy0b partition and fsck'd
- all of the other partitions (no errors). I also mounted the /usr
- partition (to /mnt) and looked at the contents which were ok. I then
- rebooted the 4.0.1 OS in single user mode and got the same error. I
- also tried mounting the /usr partition (this is device /dev/xy0e) to
- /mnt and I again the mount device busy error. Anyone have an ideal
- of what might be wrong? (I would really like to avoid doing a full
- installation of 4.1.1) Please respond to my e-mail account since I
- seldom read the news. Thanks
