  13. If you are successfully running some kind of console tool (xconsole, contool,
  14. etc.) between sessions with "xdm" under OpenWindows 3.0, please let me know
  15. how you got it to work.  I posted to "comp.windows.open-look" and
  16. "comp.windows.x" some time ago, but got no response at all.

  18. In all my attempts, the best I have achieved is a console window which appears
  19. and just as quickly disappears when the login widget appears, which I take to
  20. mean the "xnews" server is resetting, thus killing any existing clients.  This
  21. behavior occurs even when I disable authorization in the server, and
  22. explicitly set the "DisplayManager*.resetForAuth" resource to false.
