- I am trying to set up a laptop Sparc (Tadpole's SPARCbook) for
- someone. He commutes frequently between two offices. He would like
- to plug the SPARCbook to the ethernet and boots automatically to the
- right IP address.
-
- Is there anyway to listen to the ethernet to guess which one of the
- two ethernets the machine is connected to? Most(if not all) of network
- commands (e.g. ping, etherfind, rup, etc), will not work unless
- you have turn on the network interface by ifconfig. However,
- I need to put in an address for ifconfig.
-
- Any ideas?
