- We use both data grade and video grade tapes on our 8500 w/compression.
- I've had acceptable performance with both. Our drive (from Contemporary
- Cybernetics Group) has a display that indicates % of re-writes. The book
- indicates acceptable performance. Typical % re-writes with the exabyte tapes
- are about .1 %. Typical for video (Sony MP video tapes) is about .3 %. In
- my mind if the %age creaps up over .5% it is probably time to replace the
- tape.
