  11. We have an Iris 4D/120 (running Irix 4.0.5) with the following SMD
  12. disk controller and two 1.2 Gb SMD disks in an external 4-drive
  13. cabinet, shown below from hinv.

  15. Xylogics 754 4-drive SMD disk controller 0: Firmware version 2.7.0
  16. SMD Disk drive: unit 1 on Xylogics controller 0
  17. SMD Disk drive: unit 0 on Xylogics controller 0
  18.  
  19. Question: If I put in two more of these disks strictly for remote use
  20. on another 4D/120 via NFS, how much could the additional disk I/O
  21. affect the CPU performance, SMD disk controller performance and access
  22. to the two original disks?
