- When we looked into surge suppressors a few years ago, we were told that the
- IRIS's had them built in. We have opted for a UPS for our lab, simply because
- a brownout takes forever to clean up.
-
- On my machine (4D/35) I am using only a ground-fault interrupter. This will
- shut power to the workstation off if there is a momentary blackout. This has
- worked well for almost 2 years. I think it's because the worst thing for the
- machines is to have them shutdown and start back up in a period of a few
- seconds. Cost is about $20.
