  13. We had a similar problem with one of our applications.  After the
  14. upgrade to 4.0.5 the user merely twiddled the dials and the process 
  15. grew until swap-time and response went out the window.
  16. He (figuratively) held a gun to my head while I sweated out the
  17. downgrade from 4.0.5 to 4.0.1.  Once I did that, the process did
  18. not change in size no matter how much he twiddled.

  20. We had the source to the application, but it is complex enough
  21. that it would take some time to figure it out.

  23. I don't think this is an isolated example, but I don't know
  24. what the common thread is.
