- I'd need some help with SGI's `bru' program and detecing if a tape
- change happened during the last `bru' command.
-
- What we are trying to do, is to use `bru' to backup all of our SGI
- workstations (PI & Indigos).
-
- In a little more detail, we are trying to:
-
- 1) `rsh' a remote-bru command to every workstation in a list with the
- command to perform a bru backup back to our single exabyte tape drive.
-
- 2) For each workstation we write to a log file the tape name (from a
- static naming scheme) and which file that workstation's data is in
- (e.g., foobar is file 4 on tape XZY).
-
- Our problem is that we expect that all these backups will exceed the capacity
- of a single the exabyte tape and we want to know that a workstation's
- backup data is really file %n on tape XYZ+1.
-
- Does anyone do something similar? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
- (Pleae reply and I'll summarize & post if I get enough interest/suggestions.)
