  20. Yes and no.  They will work, but they may not last as long, and they
  21. may not get as many write cycles as the data grade.  Some brands may
  22. have a cheaper/less rigid/whatever cartridge shell, as well.

  24. That said, I have heard rumors that consumer DAT never quite took off
  25. in popularity to the point where more DataDAT cartridges are sold than
  26. audio, and that some manufacturers are actually making everything to
  27. data grade standards.  This is purely a rumor, but it is an interesting
  28. reversal of the 8mm situation, if true.
