- | We have an R4000 Indigo for evaluation and I have a question concerning
- | a couple of boot environmental parameters. They are set as follows.
- |
- | SystemPartition=multi(0)scsi(0)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(8)
- | OSLoadPartition=multi(0)scsi(0)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(0)
- | OSLoader=sash
- |
- | How would I set these new style parameters to boot fx.IP20 or ide.IP20
- | from the latest CD which supports the R4000 Indigo ? Previously the pro-
- | cedure involved the following for CDROM set to unit 4.
- |
- | setenv boot dksc(0,4,8)sashIP12
-
- No, this wasn't correct (it won't work). I don't know which documentation
- you were looking at, or whether it has this right, but the easiest thing
- is just:
-
- dksc(0,4,8)sashIP12
-
- | boot dksc(0,4,7)/stand/fx.IP12
-
- This will work, provided you have sash in your volhdr already (always,
- except for a brand new (or trashed!) system disk. If not, try:
-
- dksc(0,4,8)sashIP12 dksc(0,4,7)stand/fx.IP12
-
- Both of these will work just fine on the r4k. The long, long
- names were part of the ARCS spec, and the old style ones are
- still recognized (just not displayed).
