  12. I notice something strange the other day while using the commands
  13. mt and dd with our SCSI 8mm and 9 track tape drive.
  14.  
  15. One person was using dd in a c shell script to read files from the
  16. 9 track drive.  Another was using dd and mt commands to control an
  17. exabyte 8200 drive.  When every commands were sent the 8mm, the 9 track
  18. drive would STOP reading while the command to the 8mm was being executed
  19. and then continue reading after the command to the 8mm was done.

  21. It this the way it is suppose to work?

  23. The 8mm has is set to SCSI id 2 and the 9 track (Kennedy 9612) is 
  24. set to SCSI id 6.  The Computer is a 4D35 running IRIX 4.0.4.
