- Howdy,
-
- This is probably a FAQ, but... if I could find one, I would
- have looked there first.
-
- I manage a network which includes 4D/35's and Indigo's. Now I
- typically worry about minor things such and filesystems, etc,
- but the users have been jumping on me about the screen realestate
- differences between the 4D/35's and the Indigo's.
-
- My Question: Is there a way to configure the .sgisession (or
- .Xdefaults) file to recognize the resolution and
- proportion the display area appropriately/auto-
- matically. (So that Joe's mailbox and calendar
- show up in the "right" places!)
-
- My local SGI guru passed on a tidbit of info which had been sent
- to him. It suggested the following modes to the ~/.sgisession file:
-
- #if WIDTH==1024
- # define SMALL
- # define WSHFONT -*-courier-bold-r-normal-*-12-*-75-75-*-*-*-*
- #else
- # define WSHFONT -*-courier-bold-r-normal-*-*-100-*-*-*-*-*-*
- #endif
-
- XWsh.Font: WSHFONT
- emacs.Font: WSHFONT
- etc...
-
- But this only seems to address the font problem. And when I tried it,
- did not really seem to do anything.
-
- If anyone has any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated!
