Ooops ... just after posting this I got a note from Mr. Merritt. The port is no
longer supported because his group no longer uses IBMs. (Lucky him!) He did
give a couple of suggestions about "defining t"; I'll see if I can't make some
sense out of them. If I do it won't be because I understand what I'm doing!
Assistance from other more knowledgeable quarters is still humbly solicited.
