  11. First, an apology to HP.  In an earlier posting I was a critical of their
  12. local "service".  It turns out the problem was due to a 2nd-order agent (i.e.
  13. they sell the HP 95LX, but they don't deal directly with the distributors;
  14. they deal through an intermediate dealer).  So...bouquets to the Qld 
  15. distributors, Twinlock Acco, and especially to Peter Tucker in Brisbane,
  16. who couldn't have been more helpful once I approached him directly.

  18. Now to the real thing:-
  19. A HP rep in Melbourne responded to my previous posting.  He is into the HP
  20. calculator line rather than the palmtops, but he thought one of my concerns
  21. about operating the HP95 in the field could be overcome by using "system
  22. compliant" programs.  He thought there was a version of BASIC available which
  23. would facilitate writing such programs.  He called it "Swift BASIC" - which I
  24. have never heard of!  Have you?  Who supplies it??  (Having slept on the matter
  25. I'm left wondering if he really meant QuickBASIC?!)

  27. In summary:
  28. 1. Is there such a thing as "Swift BASIC" for the HP 95LX palmtop computer?
  29.    If there is, where do I get it and how much does it cost?
  30. 2. Alternatively, can you use QuickBASIC to write "system compliant" programs
  31.    for the HP 95LX?  (Or MS BASIC PDS 7.1?)
  32. 3. IF (2) THEN do the manuals for the HP contain the necessary details to
  33.    enable "system compliant programming", or must one purchase extra docs?
  34.    (It looks very much like the latter to me.)
